Glendora Mississippi

Both my parents were born and raised in this small town of Mississippi, famous for the place that Emmett Till was murdered in August 1955, my mom had just gave birth to my oldest brother on July 4th of that year she would be 16 years old and Dad 20,

they both knew the half brother J.W. Milan who was one of the murders, they lived about 3 miles from his home where the killing took place, and about half a mile from that location there is a bridge that drives over the Black Bayou river, this is where the body was dumped into the river, this same river flows across from my Grand moms house (Dads Mom) it was the river that my Brother taught me to skip rocks on the water,

when visiting Family for the holidays, one winter visit i was about 6 years old and it was so cold that the river froze over and a family friend named “Snooki” would ice skate across the river with his tennis shoes and i am looking with admiration till i overheard my uncle “Fat” say that boy is crazy he don’t know where the ice is thin and he gonna fall in that water, as i saw him all the way on the other side of the river going fast and what looked like fun, over the years i have wonder what ever happened to him while visiting after the family reunion in 2015, i learned that he is still alive and kicking .
